Direct buses from Yangon to Ngwe Saung depart in the morning from the western bus terminal Hlaing Thar Yar - also called Dagon Ayar - , which is a 45-60min taxi drive from downtown. For the 250km from Yangon it will take about 5-6 hours, depending on the road conditions. One-way tickets are around 10000kyat.

The return buses from Ngwe Saung to Yangon depart in the morning in Ngwe Saung town at the bus companies ticket shops. See the Ngwe Saung town map here.

There are also direct night buses (Golden Star, Asia Dragon, etc...) from Yangon to Ngwe Saung. They depart downtown, north of the Central Railway Station at the Aung San Stadium around 9:00pm. They arrive around 3:30am to 4:30am in the middle of the night and drop their guests at or near their hotels. Please make sure that you have a reservation for the same night. Otherwise super early check-ins are sometimes difficult, especially in high season.

Theses buses return to Yangon at 10:00am in the morning, picking up all the guests from their hotels.

Alternatively you can take one of the frequent buses from Yangon to Pathein throughout the day (about 6000kyat) and travel on with a minivan, local bus or taxi to Ngwe Saung.

The most private and relaxing way is to hire a taxi from Yangon to Ngwe Saung for about 160000kyat.
